Born in picturesque West Texas, Genna began her music career at the young age of four years old. She didn’t know notes or keys but knew she loved the sound of her self-taught great-grandmother playing the piano, singing and tapping her foot along to the beat. Genna began piano lessons right before her 5thbirthday and spent the first part of her life learning classical piano pieces and hymns until she got to high school and realized she loved the winds. While in her high school band, she played different styles of clarinets and saxophones.
Until July 2018, Genna amused her family with covers of songs on the piano until she realized there was one instrument she had yet to play: drums. Genna began her drum career as she begins everything – wholeheartedly. She’s played with various music groups ranging from honky tonk, singer/songwriter, rock, pop and now – Bangles Tribute Band! Genna loves The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac and pulls a lot of her drumming inspiration from Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Ringo Starr and Sarah Jones.
When Genna isn’t playing drums, you can find her playing piano, strumming away on guitar/ukulele or somewhere watching live music.
